Within the framework of an 18-month project funded by the European Union (EU) and titled “Gender equality”, Al-Maqdese (MSD) commenced today a four- day training course for women organizations on mechanisms of monitoring and documenting Human Rights violations.
Twenty representatives of fourteen women organizations registered for this course, which is held in cooperation with the Palestinian Ministry of Women Affairs. The course is facilitated and provided by specialized and experienced Professionals from Al-Maqdese’s legal and technical staff.
On the first day, the course provided the participants with an overview of the international conventions, treaties, laws and instruments related to the Human Rights of various social segments including CEDAW agreement, the Convention on the Rights of Child (CRC) and the Geneva 4th Convention. It will also offer the participants a wide range of internationally applied documentation mechanisms, methodologies and skills, as well as documentation problem-solving techniques, ways of conducting interviews and results quantitative and qualitative analyses. Furthermore, it will introduce the participants to how to manage lobbying and advocacy campaigns on such violations.
