El Foro Urbano Mundial, convocado por el ONU-Hábitat, se ha convertido en una de las reuniones internacionales más importantes sobre el desarrollo urbano sostenible.
HIC participará en la décima edición (WUF10) para hacer incidencia por un desarrollo urbano sostenible e inclusivo, promoviendo el papel de la sociedad civil en la implementación de las agendas internacionales: la Agenda 2030 y la Nueva Agenda Urbana.
HIC y la Plataforma Global para el Derecho a la Ciudad (GPR2C) y sus Miembros han participado con éxito en varias de las reuniones anteriores y consideran que el Foro Urbano Mundial es un importante foro para abogar por los Derechos relativos al Hábitat y por el Derecho a la Ciudad.
El tema de esta edición es Ciudades de Oportunidades: Conectando la Cultura y la Innovación. Por lo tanto, la Cumbre se centrará en los vínculos entre la urbanización, la cultura y la innovación como base para unas ciudades y asentamientos humanos inclusivos, seguros, resistentes y sostenibles. Este tema está claramente relacionado con varios de los componentes del Derecho a la Ciudad.
