The AFRICITIES VII Summit will
take place from 29 November to 3 December 2015 at the Sandton International
Convention Centre, in Johannesburg, South Africa. The theme for the Summit is “Shaping the future of Africa with the people: the contribution of
local authorities to the agenda 2063 of Africa.” Judging from the past Africities, this will be an interesting occasion
and a great opportunity to interact with networks, social movements, activists
and local government officials.
More information can be found at www.africities2015.org and registration is
available at www.africities-sessions.uclga.org.
The session “The Inhabitants Associations & Local authorities towards Quito” will be held in the Conference Centre from 9:00 to 12:00 on Monday 30th
November. The session will bring together representatives of social movements,
NGOs, elected officials and local government officials to discuss the promotion
of dialogue and productive partnerships between the parties as a concrete
contribution to shape an agenda for the Future of Africa with the People, as
well as a regional contribution to the World Urban Social Forum and Habitat III
in Quito, in 2016.
The Session is organised by a
Working Group drawn from international networks (HIC, IAI, NO-VOX, SDI and
