In the framework of Urban October, Habitat International Coalition Latin America (HIC-AL), together with the Latin American Television Network (TAL) and the Centre for Strategies and Actions for Equality (Ceapi), premieres the series ‘Cities in crisis: housing between necessity and the market’.
The series consists of 11 episodes in which various experts analyse the impacts of the financialisation and touristification of housing.
During 11 micro-episodes, the interviews aim to raise awareness and provoke reflection on one of the phenomena contributing to the housing crisis in Latin America, but also a global phenomenon: short-term rentals.
The episodes feature interviews conducted by Maria Silvia Emanuelli (HIC-AL Coordinator) and Facundo Di Filippo (HIC Council Representative for Latin America and Ceapi Team). Through these talks, the impacts of the financialisation and touristification of housing are analysed .
