The Electoral Committee (EC) is pleased to announce the launch of the election process for the next HIC-MENA Representative on the HIC Board for the 2025-2029 mandate. We have approved the Rules of Elections and the Election Calendar, marking the beginning of this important process.
Nomination Period
📅 February 3 – February 16, 2025 (11:59 PM GMT)
HIC Members in good standing are invited to actively participate by nominating candidates for this key position. This election is an opportunity to exchange ideas, debate priorities, and shape the future of HIC in the MENA region.
Who Can Nominate and Vote?
Only HIC Member Organizations in good standing (i.e., up to date with their contributions) have the right to:
✔ Nominate candidates
✔ Be nominated
✔ Vote in the election

How to Nominate a Candidate
Submit your nominations before February 16, 2025 (11:59 PM GMT) to:

Your nomination email should include:
✅ Your name
✅ The organization you represent
✅ Your HIC Member code (from the official list)
✅ The name of the candidate you are nominating
✅ The candidate’s organization
Role & Responsibilities of the HIC-MENA Representative
The elected representative will:
📌 Maintain continuous communication with HIC Members in the MENA region.
📌 Have at least five years of experience in urban and housing rights fields.
📌 Organize quarterly meetings with Members and semi-annual meetings following HIC Board meetings.
Candidate Eligibility
To be eligible, candidates must be nominated by at least three (3) HIC Members in good standing.
