The High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) is the central UN platform for the follow-up and review of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and is held in July every year. This year’s event will take place from July 10-19 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, under the theme “Accelerating recovery from coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and full implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development at all levels.”
The forum provides an opportunity to discuss different aspects of the Sustainable Development Agenda in depth, as well as to monitor the follow-up of its implementation in relation to the 17 SDGs and progress by country. To this end, each year a set of SDGs is reviewed in depth, while different countries present reports on the status of implementation of the Agenda in their territories.
In 2023, the SDGs to be reviewed are:
- SDG 6: safe drinking water and sanitation;
- SDG 7: affordable and clean energy;
- SDG 9: industry, innovation and infrastructure;
- SDG 11: sustainable cities and communities:
- SDG 17: partnerships for the Goals.
